Hopefully this falls under the appropriate topics for blog posts on the wiki. I took a look at Media Wiki’s policy on them, and it seems like original content is something that’s allowed to be posted in a user’s blog? Please let me know if I’m misunderstanding the guidelines, though.
Hi! So, as my profile states, I’m an independent game developer, and as of today, a major update for one of my games, Freak of the Week, just launched. This game is a platformer/action game where a team of animals have to face an unending, increasingly-difficult gauntlet of boss battles. This game is a project I’ve been working on for quite a while, and I’m very excited to get to show off this new update, as it is a near-complete overhaul of the game up until this point. This update added eight bosses to the game (bringing the total up to 16,) as well as reworking most backgrounds to allow the game to run in a 16:9 aspect ratio. I've been working on this game on-and-off (mostly off) for over a year now, and I'm ecstatic to get to show this massive step made towards finishing it. The game is completely free and can be run on either Windows or Mac.
The game can be downloaded at the link below. To close out this blog post, I’ll post a gif I made of Yamada from BNA in the style of the playable characters in my game.
