Sato is a minor character in BNA: Brand New Animal, appearing in episodes one and two. He seems to be a canine beastman, such as a fox or dog.[1]
Appearance[]
In his beastman form, Sato appears as a canine with primarily light fur, with darker patches of fur on the sides and back of his head, back of his neck, and on the top side of his tail. He wears a long-sleeved shirt and matching pants with a belt and two black holsters on either side on his hip. He also wears a two-tone baseball cap. Sato’s human form is never shown.
Personality[]
Like his cohorts, there is little information given on Sato, but from his actions, it seems he is an aggressive beastman who is willing to go along with criminal actions for money, and his dialogue indicates that he’s probably a bit cocky even when compared to his co-conspirators, and appears a bit skittish and erratic.

He, alongside Tanaka and Yamada, were hired to bomb the festival at Anima City, presumably by Sylvasta Pharmaceuticals as part of the company's head's plan to mar the human-beastman relations.[2]
BNA: Brand New Animal[]
Sato is first seen by Michiru Kagemori during her chase of the monkey thief. Shortly after she notices him leaving the underside of the festival’s television’s scaffolding, he flees. Following the explosion which sends the television falling, Michiru and Shirou Ogami surmise that the bomb must have been planted by the beastman Michiru observed under the scaffolding, and Shirou gives chase.
While being pursued, Sato detonates a ‘scentless bomb,’ burying Shirou in a pile of rubble and debris. Sato gloats about the bomb’s detonation, but Shirou reaches out from the pile, grabbing Sato’s ankle and throws the shocked bomber up onto an air-conditioner before he falls back down onto a dumpster dazed. Once Shirou emerges completely from the rubble, Sato regains his senses fearfully stress out loud if Shirou is immortal. He then runs to a nearby van in the alleyway for backup. He pounds twice on the van’s back door, and Yamada and Tanaka emerge, with Sato warning them that Shirou had been able to “dodge” his best bomb. Shirou takes in their scent and is enraged to discover that humans hired them.
Alongside his two allies, Sato fires at Shirou; but are unable to hit the beastman who then proceeds to give them a thorough beating. During this discussion, Sato sneaks up behind Michiru who watched the fight with awe, holding her at knifepoint and demanding Shirou step down. Shirou mocks the bomber as he easily manages to outmaneuver Sato and throws him to the ground, kicking him repeatedly. Michiru then tells Shirou to stop as the fight is over and he does not need to not kill the three mercenaries despite them working for humans. Shirou begrudgingly agrees after learning that Michiru had, at one point, been a human herself.
In the opening of Rabbit Town, we see that Shirou had tied Sato up (alongside Tanaka and Yamada,) with a note taped to them identifying them as the bombers who ruined the festival. Their unconscious bodies are discovered by Yuji Tachiki and arrested.
