Saotome (早乙女, Saotome) is one of the supporting characters in BNA: Brand New Animal. He is the gang leader of the underground gambling ring for Anima City Baseball. He coerces Dante to fix matches.
Appearance[]
In his human form, Saotome appears as a short, stout man with a brimmed hat, a suit, and a rounded pair of sunglasses. His shirt bears a dolphin pin on the breast, indicating his involvement with the family. In his Beastman form, Saotome dresses similarly, but omits the hat, revealing two small ears located at the top of his head. His fur is a light brown, beige color, and he has a patch of grey fur between his eyes and above his dark grey nose.
History[]
Saotome debuts in Episode 5, where he is shown with a group of enforcers at Pizzanimal, beating up Dante as punishment for his team winning the most recent baseball match, as prior to that point, the Bears have only lost, so gamblers had been accustomed to betting against them. Later in the episode, he's confronted by Shirou for his role in the gambling ring, and he ultimately ends up trying to return some of his profits to Dante but is rebuffed.
