Pinga is a supporting character in the BNA: Brand New Animal anime series. He is an Albatross Beastman.
Appearance[]
In his human form, he has a fairly tan complexion, pink eyes, swept-back white hair, a maroon mullet, and stubble on his chin. He wears a red leather flight jacket, white-and-red striped trousers, and brown boots.
In his albatross form, his arms turn into a pair of white wings with a black edge, and he has a yellow beak with a black tip.
Personality[]
Pinga is a free-spirited adventurer, who doesn't like the bindings of regulations and rules. He is shown to be rather bold, as he refused to listen to the Japanese government, even saying that he is a wandering albatross and therefore a protected species under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act, to which the government replied saying that it did not apply to Beastmen much to Pinga's distaste. Pinga is willing to help out and do what's best for all of Beastmen, as he helped the mayor escape and assisted Michiru in destroying Alan Sylvasta's drones.
History[]
Pinga is first seen soaring in the sky until he is warned by the Japanese government that he has invaded the Japanese airspace without permission and has to land and fill in the entry requirements. He refuses to comply and ends up getting targeted by Humans. Pinga then comes close with a storm and crashes into Michiru's room. He quickly becomes friends with Michiru, so he gives her a ride to look at the city above, and tells her about the tradition of his family of flying free, as well as his fallen friends. However, he has to carry on and therefore leaves Michiru behind.
Shirou, nonetheless, raises suspicion on Pinga, as Shirou is aware of the albatross who have to suffer from oppression have terrorist thoughts and may harm Anima City. During the chase in the sky, Shirou sniffs out the smell of Pinga's weapons in his backpack (which he got from an associate in a bar). After Shirou is rescued by Michiru who learns how to fly, Pinga gets defeated by Shirou and admits that he once partook in the military when he was young, but decided to become a terrorist of some sort after learning that fighting for Beastmen rights meant that all Beastmen would have to abide to human laws, and he'd no longer be able to fly freely like his ancestors had. Shirou still allows him to leave under the condition of never returning to the city, so Pinga requests Michiru to tell the Mayor Barbara Rose to make tombs for his fallen friends. Before departure, he defeats Meteor so that Shirou can catch the hitman for good.
He later reappears during the crisis of Anima City, saving some innocent children.
Abilities[]
Flight: As an albatross beastman, Pinga can fly long distances without tiring.
